You may be noticing the increasing availability of Organic, natural and green products showing up at your local grocery or health food stores. You may also be wondering whether it will cost you and your family more to use and consume these products, and whether its worth it.

Organic foods are good for your body, and good for the planet.  Knowing where to buy organic affordably and why it is important will help you make better choices.  We typically hear families thinking organic is always more costly, and in actuality its not.  Learning where to buy will determine whether your bill goes up or down, so be sure to do your research to find the best organic buys in your town so that making the organic switch will work for you.

All food comes from a farm.  Although some food takes longer or shorter to get to you, all food comes from a farm of some kind.  All food is planted, grown and harvested on a farm prior to ending up in a box or at your local grocery food shelf.

Do your best to start buying organic foods today. If you are not able to go 100% organic right away, start implementing products in weekly from your grocery list that you can replace with organic choices, until you switch over completely.  If you have found that the restrictions for you to go 100% organic have been difficult due to cost or availability, begin looking around for sales, coupons, your local farmer’s market, or C.S.A..  Once you begin looking around and find the availability, you will see that it is well worth it and you are doing good in so many ways by switching over.

Every dollar you spend towards organic foods is actually helping invest in the planet. Do your part to aid your local community as well as the environment by putting less chemicals into the soil and water system, while also improving water quality, and reducing erosion.
