Steel Cut Oats with
Banana & Agave Walnuts

1 Cup Organic Steel Cut Oats
3 Cups Purified Water
2 Organic Bananas, sliced
1/4 Cup Organic Agave
1/4 Cup Raw Organic Walnut Pieces


In a small pot add the 3 cups of water and bring to a boil.  Once boiling add steel cut oats bring back to a boil.  Once boiling reduce to a simmer for 25 minutes for chewy oats.  If you want them softer cook for 3o minutes.  Slice up bananas set aside.  Take agave and walnut pieces in a bowl mixing together so that walnuts begin soaking up the sweet agave taste and moisten.  Upon completion of oats put them in a bowl.  Top with banana and one to two spoonfuls of agave walnut mixture.


We pick up the steel cut oats in the bulk section of our healthy market to keep the costs down without sparing any nutrition.  Using the bulk section you get more for your money as you are not paying for advertising costs, packaging and or the fuel or long travel costs involved with shipping brand name products across town.  Be sure to write down the instructions of how to prepare when picking up bulk items as well as any nutritional information you may want or need.  I use a notepad or the notes section of my phone when buying bulk items to be sure to have the information I may want or need on the product.  Save big by using bulk and get much more for your money.
