Perfectly Seared Tofu

1 package Organic Sprouted Tofu, Extra Firm
1/2 Teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
sea salt
Freshly Ground Pepper


Begin with your organic firm tofu.
We picked ours up from our local Trader Joe’s store in a two pack for $1.20.

Remove the tofu from the package draining water from the container.
Next place each cube on a plate and pat dry.

Once dried cut into nice large size slices.You should be able to cut 4-6 slices per cube.
This package came with two square blocks of tofu separately packaged.
Preheat pan to medium heat.

Once pan is hot use olive oil spray or drizzle pan with olive oil.
Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper then sear tofu on each side for 2-3 minutes until golden.
Once tofu is golden remove from pan and serve.

Simple Vegan Gravy

Time: 5 minutes
Yield: 1 Cup Gravy
(4 Item Recipe)
Naturally Vegan & Vegetarian

Ingredients for Simple Vegan Gravy:

1 Cup non dairy milk (coconut, almond or soy)
3-4 Tablespoons Whole Wheat Flour
2 -3 Teaspoons Vegan Butter
Sea Salt & Pepper to taste


Take non dairy milk out and measure it.

In a separate bowl measure out whole wheat flour, then add sea salt and pepper.

In a sauce pan on medium heat add vegan butter, allow to melt.

  Once melted add non dairy milk to a boil.  Slowly add whole wheat mixture whisking until smooth.
Stir approximately 2 minutes until no bumps or lumps appear.

Take your seared tofu and top with gravy.
